cstoezri a jug with a large or Capital letter stamped on the side and no other markings is not from Red Wing. They are most often from Ohio or New York and it wouldn't surprise me if they came from elsewhere as well. What does that letter signify? Well I am not positive but many belive they denote a specific potter or a specific production line. Potters were most often paid by incentive or by the number of pieces they made in a day. The letter made it possible to tell who made what and how much. Now jugs as you decsribe are very common and since it is damaged the value is minimal. Maybe $10-20. Steve L.
