Wdywdpkr - I have no idea where the holes were drilled and where they wern't. The lamp business didn't last very long and no one says much about it. I guess anything you have on your mind is how it happened. You might talk to Jan at Hill Street Antiques in Red Wing, she is the lamp expert. You might notice in Ray Reiss's "Red Wing Art Pottery book one that in all the pictures inside of the pottery sales room there are no Red Wing lamps.
