sjcanoels sounds like you have a 5 gallon crock that was made by Star Stoneware of Crooksville Ohio. It was probably made around 1900-1910 or so. It could be from another pottery though as many companies used star decorations around that time. I would have to see a picture to know for sure. Its worth about $40 or so.
