the M stamp on my s/g beehive jug

Hi..I recently acquired a 4 gal s/g beehive with a target/lazy 8 kind of pattern that matches a lot of our r/w pieces....but this one has about an inch sized M stamped into the back down by the bottom edge....have you come across this before? Thanks for your time, Dave
