Hello Wally and Paul, I just purchased a nice old 3 gal. earred red wing crock there are no chips or cracks in the crock but serious pitting. I intend to keep this for myself so am wondering if we can apply a matte or semi gloss polyurethane (pitted areas only) to it to help protect it from further damage. Thank You Very Much, Lynn
