Cindy--- You didn't say what shape the plate was. You also didn't say if the rose was the only flower on the plate. You didn't say what color the background color was so I will make a guess. The earliest one with a pink rose was Orleans introduced in 1941. It was a round plate with a blue ring about 3/4 of an inch in from the edge. It also has a small yellow and a small blue flower with an off white back ground.
Next in 1947 came Blossom time that was a square plate with a white back ground. It had a large Pink Rose and a bud and then a blossom about half open. In 1955 came Red Wing Rose that was on a round plate with a pale pink background. It has a pink rose going up one edge and a rose bud going across the bottom. That covers all the roses from Red Wing dinnerware. You also failed to say if it was marked Red Wing. I hope this helps you.
