Sorry about that...I wrote out a response to this previously, but it seems not to be posted.
Damage is an extremely subjective matter. It's really up to you the buyer to decide how much any particular imperfection is worth. Some collectors won't buy anything that's not "mint". In that case, the damage makes the piece "worthless" to the collector. Others find damage less bothersome, particularly on rare pieces, or where the damage isn't very noticeable. A 10 gallon cooler is fairly rare, and if you'll never find another one, you'll probably kick yourself if you don't buy this one.
Remember, only you know what something is worth to you.
