I bought an item an 80 year old man told me was a Poultry Waterer. It is a cylinder in shape 7" long and 5.75" diameter. It has 2 feet on the bottom and is intended to sit horizontally. The front has the bottom 1/3 flat and the top 2/3 indented in a concave about 1.25" deep. It has a Union Stoneware Co. oval. Around the rim on front is "PAT,D APRIL 7 1885" (The comma is 2/3 the height of the lettering and in line with the other letters). Around the rin on the bottom impressed in clay is "UNION STONEWARE Co. RED WING MINN". It is in very good condition with a couple of chips and no cracks or hairlines. I do not know how to attach photos, but do have digital capabilities and would appreciate guidance if they are needed.
