Misteemorn -- I love your name, we use the name Misty Morn Antiques. When the kids were growing up we were Misty Morn Farms and raised Ayshire Cows.
But enough of that. You didn't say what the shape of your planter was but It should be a ring with a slot in the middle. It was introduced in 1956 and was only made for 2 years. I was always told that this is called a pansy dish but don't know where the name came from. They are valued at from $45 to $60.
