I recently inherited a large group of Lexington Rose dinnerware from my late great-grandmother. The group contains 8 plates, 8 cups, a tea set, a water pitcher, and two serving bowls, one covered, one not. Your web site has been invaluable for identifying all of these pieces.
My first question, however, concerns the different colors between the plates. Six of the plates and the pitcher have light redish-brownish roses. All the other pieces are much darker colored and look like the pictures I've seen on the web. Is this the result of aging or abuse? Does it affect value?
If I sell the pieces, is it better to sell as a group or piece by piece? I'll probally keep some for sentimental reasons.
Thank you for your time! Catherine
