WHAT! You are joking right? Tell you what, soak a piece of stoneware in bleach, stick it in a box and put it in your basement for 5 years, then come back and tell us what you have.
Being a Dr., you should know chemicals- and bleach is acid base and dissolve any porus material such as stoneware.
