I would like to set the record straight with regards to Red Wing producing Rolling Pins-(advertising or other)

Red Wing NEVER made them back in the day, period, end of story- They WERE made by Western Stoneware, Monmouth, Illinois however, around 1915, thats the source of all the advertising ones around with either blue or rust colored bands. Red Wing DOES make NEW rolling pins at the factory in Red WIng, these are made as a new product and not as a reproduction of anything that any of the Red Wing Potteries ever made during the day-they are for decoration more than anything.

Just because a few unknowing auctioneers or Ebay sellers claim in an ad that a rolling pin was made by RW does not make it so. Please do the research before claiming the every piece of stoneware produced was from Red Wing- In many cases this is true, but in the case of the very popular advertising rolling pins, they were not-

For more information, please see the book-

Western Stoneware, by Jim Martin, and Betty Cooper
