Not sure how the names of the individuals involved got into this post. Guess it has been the unwritten rule to keep the personal comments out of this forum. If you did not understand it before, try to follow it in the future.
I think Wally's advice is sound in a general way. The post office will do most anything not to pay just like almost every insurance company. If you have a reasonable complaint, asking to talk to someone besides the local yokel might help.
Those of us that buy lots of red wing over the internet are burned when we recieve damaged items more often than not. Those who are trying to propose that ALL the sellers are above board are fooling no one but themselves. Those of us that buy know no matter how much we plead, how many suggestions we make for checking for damage, roughly 25% of those items bought on the net arrive with undisclosed damage.
The old potteries did not make rolling pins. If you are selling the ones made recently you should state it clearly in the ad. This goes for all the stuff made by the little factory north of Red Wing.
