Professional repair could be considered, though this is obviously costly. A poor man's repair technique is to squirt super glue into the crack and then close down the crack by applying a tourniquet. Strong nylon rope ( or similar non-stretching rope) can be wrapped around the crock at several levels and then tightened tourniquet style with a broomstick or similar device. The excess glue will seep out as the rope is tightened.
