If the wording in the round mark says “Red Wing Stoneware Company”, rather than “Red Wing Union Stoneware Company”, your piece was made within the last 15 years by the current Red Wing Stoneware Company, which is not related to the original company, except by name and location. Their mark includes a wing in a circle with the company name and city, just as you described, all in blue.
