Hey guys, you must realize that Wally absolutely hates to answer questions about sets of dinnerware as establishing a value is extremely time consuming, requires a good understanding of value and its modification based on condition, and litterally CAN NOT be done properly unless in person.
With all that, your best bet is consider these 4 things:
1 - The only price guide worth its weight is the Reiss, Dinnerware pricing guide listed in the Wing Tips Reference page.
2 - You ABSOLUTELY MUST be able to alter your value based the set condition. The best place to gain an appreciation for what alters the value of Red Wing and how to disclose that damage is the "Damage Disclosure" page accessed from the Wing Tips Home Page.
3 - Even if your set is in absolute mint condition, you won't (realistically) be able to multiply your item count by book price. Large sets, unless they are a rare pattern, usually go for a fraction of book especially when selling to a re-seller.
4 - How you sell depends on a lot of things. Unless you're REALLY familiar with book price, damage disclosure, and proper packaging for long trips I'd stick with the face-to-face method with a local dealer. Selling sets via the web is likely to end in hurt feelings unless you know what you're doing.
Get the Price Guide, review the Damage Disclosure page, and then make up your mind.
Good luck, I hope it all turns out well!
