As a collector of Village Green, I can tell you that I have both marked and unmarked pitchers. The same goes for coffee pots, marmites (see other post), beverage muts, casseroles, and other pieces. The greatest variety I have found is the beverage mug: some with no marking, some with U.S.A., some with Red Wing U.S.A., some with Red Wing.
If both of the pitchers are the same color and glaze they are probably both Red Wing. As Wally noted in the post on the marmites, Village Green is quite distinctive and not similar to the knock off patterns like "Country Fare". In addition, somewhere in the archives of these posts is a discussion about how difficult and expensive it would be to try and make a counterfit, as I recall the consensus is that it would be cost more than the value of the pieces to make a new one.
