If you'll abide a word from a stoneware collector on this dinnerware issue, I can tell you of our experiance in buying sets of dinnerware that had been repeatedly dishwasher washed. We've had at least two sets, one in Orleans and one in Magnolia or Lotus that had an orangy-brown discolorization on the surface. Ordinary washing had no effect on this stain. It was necessary to scrub each piece individually with an iron reducing cleanser like Zud or Barkeeper's Friend and using a stiff bristle brush. I vote with Terry, some of these patterns are over 60 years old. Save them for speacial occasions and posterity.
