I would not recommend using a dishwasher on some of the older patterns such as Gypsy Trail. We used my Grandmother's set for several years before discovering what it really was. For some reason, the dishwasher seemed to leave a soap scum which we couldn't remove. We also don't run our Orleans or Ardennes through the dishwasher, but do handle the Country Garden by means of the appliance. As far as microwaving any of it, I would not do it. I have seen a plate break in the microwave and I would rather not take the chance of breaking dishes which are no longer made.
