Bill-- I talked to a couple of experts, one here and one in Minnesota and we have come to the conclusion that I am right. (I'm sure happy over that) The Teapot lid should be a matching color. The yellow should all be the same shade. It looks like you are going to have to look for another pot or another lid. I don't think anything came out in two tone in Red Wing.
