Bobbi - There isn't to much to tell about your vase. It was introduced between 1926 and 1929. The color that you said is cobalt and so dark that it looks black is black. It also came in Antiqued white, $40 to $70, Travertine, $50 to $85, Yellow, $90 to $125 and your black one at $75 to $100. As for the Antique dealers, I learned that a long time ago.
