Not to argue the fact with Wally but if it is in Dolen's book, don't you think that the Dolens believed it to be Red Wing based on their knowledge and the opinions of other collectors they may have contacted. We all know that just because there is a number and the Red Wing name does not mean that a piece is the real thing. I have a couple of pieces that are numbered and done very well with the painting and glazes but we know they are not true Red Wing. We also have the rumored 7th piece in the Birch Bark line that is not marked with the Red Wing name or a number. Yet a host of collectors definately believe that it is really Red Wing based on weight and glaze charateristics. Ebay has brought a lot of Red Wing pieces to the market. There was a large swan marked 924 but all the collectors and dealers we have talked with have never mentioned swan or the way it is so different than all of the other swans with wings folded not like 924 with the wings up swept. I suppose there is a lot of Red Wing marked or not out there that we haven't seen. So is it all together wrong that there is some Red Wing unmarked that went with other pieces that were marked as in the pair of ducks (B2508A marked on the planter only) and pair of parrots (B2509A marked on the planter only) which are not maked but go with marked planters as accessories.

Can we really say that if it is not marked it is not Red Wing?
