Ben,

You've posed one of the more interesting questions about Red Wing dinnerware than I've seen on the site in a long time! No worries about eBay. Let's face it, it's like an addiction that we just can't give up.

I'm not sure if you've seen the Dinnerware Brochures in the Wing Tips Quick Viewer. There's only one in the Village X category that even mentions Village Brown, and then it's a note that the pattern has been discontinued. Not sure if that answers any questions but if the Village X Line is anything like the other Lines of Red Wing dinnerware you can be assured that all the patterns in the line have basically the same shape of all the accessories, only the glaze has been changed. I assume the cute little swirl (as I call it) is on both Village "G" and Village "B".

Here's my experience with Village "B" pricing... 2 years ago at the annual RWCS convention in Red Wing you couldn't find a "B" dinner plate to save your soul! The 2 we found sold for (and yes, I bought it) $75-&85 each. OUCH! The very next year in Red Wing you couldn't give the "B" version of the plates away; well, I exagerate... $15 was the going rate as at least 1, and maybe 2 entire boxes (around 20 plates to the box) had shown up. Boy did I feel like a fool!

OK, that's my feedback on this. Village Brown has always been one of those Red Wing patterns that had a lot of unanswered questions around it. I hope that Wally can provide some insight on this topic as well as some of the rest of you (maybe the Wing Tips Sponsors) that have experience with this Line. If Wally can't shed some light we may have to hit (the newly web-enabled) Stanley Bougie up himself.

Great question Ben. Hopefully we call all learn something here. I'm willing to take it to the top!
