I know you can say a lot here but I was talking to Dino about convention last week and this is why he needs to make the pilgramage.
Dino, there's a (relatively) "New" Red Wing manufacturer in operation in Red Wing, MN. You've probably found one of their many offerings! The new pottery is in a very small building just west of town on the main highway. They have a sales room as well as all their manufacturing operations there; you should really visit when you come to the next July convention (hint, hint).
It's good to hear that you can tell the difference between the old and new stuff. The outward appearance is typically the clue but the blue stamp on the bottom is the dead ringer.
I talked with the ex-owner of the new pottery about representing the business on Wing Tips but he didn't seem very interested. While sitting in on a SIG last July I met the new owner of the business, he had evidently just signed the paperwork on the business deal that very day. I think I'll visit him next July as he seemed much more personable than the old owner.
So did you buy the item?
