Donna, your question is the most often asked question about salt-glazed pieces. The "Target" and "Lazy-Eight Target" decorations were used by numerous potteries from the East coast through the Midwest. Without a company signature it is impossible to give positive attribution. Because of their size and longevity the Red Wing factories put more of this ware into the marketplace than any other, so the mathmatical likelihood of a particular piece being Red Wing is high. Your lid, on the other hand might be more identifiable (and Valuable $$). Red Wing's "Daisy Petal" design was unique in the salt-glaze era, as for as I know.
