I have acquired a speckled oval platter 18" long and 10.5" wide. It has a very shiny glaze and a design of what look like abstrack forks. It has three partial forks in light tan poking in from around the edges. In the center is a pattern of three (four pronged) forks in dark brown. In the background is a tan pattern of six balls, with lines connecting each pair of balls. The back has the red "REDWING" "HAND PAINTED" stamp. Underneath it is USA and the number 4126. I can't find the pattern in the reference books.
I suspect it may be a fake because the plate looks so new and shiny. What do you think?
Thanks
Monica
