Hard to believe these days, but at one time radioactivity was touted as a way to restore vigor and vitality. The old ads for these products made claims that are quite similar to the impossible claims made for questionable health aids in today's ads. Anyway, Red Wing and other companies made stoneware containers that resemble small water coolers. These containers have a lining made of radioactive material, intended to add radioactivity to water stored in the container. Yummy! The radioactivity is real -- these pieces will make a Geiger counter go wild. The Red Wing version is uncommon. The "Revigator" is a similar product made by another company (in California I think) and is easier to find.
