My interest in collecting Red Wing started when my mother gave me "the family" cookie jar, The French Chef. Then my husband, Wayne, was given his grandfathers 3 gal. crock with a beautiful 4" red wing on the front. We got the bug. Bought everything we could get our hands on that we could afford. Chipped, cracked, signed and unsigned. Then we joined the Red Wing Collectors Society in l986 and started to learn about what we had. Now we have limited our collecting to art pottery and Reed dinnerware. We still have some stoneware we couldnt part with when we moved to our condo.
I found Wing Tips in early April l997, after getting our PC as a Valentines Day gift. Ive been a fan of the site ever since. Its such a fantastic learning tool. Now, when Im not hunting for Red Wing or searching the web for it, Im trying to teach my 3 year old grandson, Nick, to respect the art form of clay.
