About the authors
The authors of this book are both collectors of Red Wing dinnerware. Both began collecting the ware several years ago. Stan Bougie became acquainted with Red Wing dinnerware in the 1940's as an employee of the Potteries. He worked for the company until it closed in 1967. His collection includes several nearly complete sets and at least one piece from each pattern show in this book.

Dave Newkirk began collecting dinnerware about five years ago and is collecting pieces from several patterns as well as dinner plates from each of the major patterns. He also collect Red Wing Stoneware.

The authors decided two years ago to do a book on Red Wing dinnerware and have been accumulating information since that time. Stan provided brochures and back ground information for the book. Dave served as compiler of information and did the photography.

Rumor has it this 103 page paperback is now a collectors item. I paid around $28 (price on cover is $8.95) for it from the "Ms. Information - Out of Print & Used Books" web site in our Related Links. The book has a copyright of 1980 and has glossy pictures of a cross section of the Red Wing wares. Every picture has an associated $ value and the name of the piece. My wife and I have found that several of the names of the dinnerware in this book are in-corrrect based on common knowledge of these items today.
