Byron Shows Off Buckle #2 in Rochester

Here it is, the long awaited (by me anyway) new buckle design.  It took me about 25 hours to complete this piece, it's all hand made and hand engraved.  I hope you like it as much as I do!

Pheasant_Plate_45.jpg (11885 bytes) Admittedly, this looks a lot like buckle #1 that I made some 6-9 months ago.  It's still all hand made of sterling silver and the chard dug from the Red Wing pottery dump.
I've tried to pay attention to detail, even the bezel is hand stamped and ornamented by the sterling rope wire.  But  there's a BIG difference from buckle #1... Buckle_w_Side.jpg (12018 bytes)
Smart_Set_Pepper_Mill_45.jpg (7557 bytes) The back of buckle #2 is totally re-designed; it's now worthy of the work of art displayed on the front.  Yes, every cut, bend, line, and curve was done by hand in my shop.  No pre-fab anything!
Every buckle is going to have a number indicating the order in which I completed it; 2 in this case.  The space above the 2 is reserved for an initial, or what ever.  The leaves are actually duplicates of the traditional Red Wing "Elephant Ears" found on many of the stoneware pieces. All the collectors tell me that it's extremely important to sign and date a piece.  In this case it's made by:

I hope to have a good inventory of these buckles in July at the Red Wing convention.  I expect the asking price, depending on the chard, will be around $200.
