Street Sale on Sunday

[Dividing Line Image]

Local Red Wing businesses sponsored a Street Sale on Sunday morning. They had closed down 2 blocks right in the middle of town where they expected around 75 vendors to set up.

The sale was supposed to be going at the crack of dawn but when we arrived, around 6:30, not many people actually had their booth set up.Finally, around 8:00, both vendors and buyers began to show up.

The RWCS had a table set up at the end of the block that allowed you to register early for the convention. Someone deserves a pat on the back for this idea that kept lines as short as possible throughout the convention.

There were a couple early birds

Some very pleasant ladies trying to make a buck!

Oh, I've got to have that!

A very rare set of Hamm's shakers marked at around $225.

The weather was perfect, warm enough for shorts but a light jacket was essential.

Most of the businesses along the street had window displays of thier best offerings.

A picture looking down the street from the RWCS registration table. Red Wing sits in a beautiful, tree lined valley along the river.

The street sale was interesting but the turn out, both vendors and buyers, was less than what I expected. It was probably too early in the week for everyone to get excited.
