The Old Pottery Building sits on the end of Old Main Street in Red Wing. This is a 3 story, brick building that now contains a couple antique stores, Red Wing Museum, and some other retail stores. Immediately when you walk into the building you can tell it was built to last. Periodically, throughout the day, free tours of the building where given that detailed the history and design of the building.

A picture of the pottery as it used to look, I wasn't smart enough to get a pic of
the outside of the building as it is today.

Our beautiful model, Janice Bush, sits in front of a kiln that was actually used
by the potteries. It still stands in front of the Pottery building as a memorial of the
Red Wing era. A metal track runs down the middle of the kiln that supported the wagons
that held the items to be fired. We met a person that worked with the kiln and he told us
a story of how some items actually fell off the wagon as it went through the kiln; thus
blocking the progress of the wagons. He said that, in order to clear the obstruction from
the track, someone would cover their head and body with a wet gunny sack and actually
crawl into the hot kiln the remove the obstruction. Ouch!

Just inside the pottery building sets, what I think is, an old boiler

The vendors in the Pottery Building were ready for the convention!

Stained glass window and dedication that sits right inside the entrance.
