After a visit to Pottery Place a few weeks ago, I've been doing some reading about Red Wing Potteries. I recently finished reading Richard S Gillmer's "Death Of A Business". I was only 3 years old at the time of the strike and until my recent visit, I wasn't aware what led to the downfall of Red Wing Potteries. Although the book was written from the point of view of management, I thought it was a very good book...possibly one of the better I've read in recent years. But then again, I'm a history buff. Have any of you read the book? Did you like it? Do you have any thoughts regarding the 1967 strike? BTW, is Richard S Gillmer still alive? If he is, he should be in his mid 60's by now.
