Hi Chris, I collect Red Wing Stoneware as well as Stoneware made by the eastern companies. Both give me great pleasure and I have to admit (to me) the hunt is every bit as much fun as the "find". I've never been impressed by how much someone paid for a specific item....and I would venture to guess...not many others are either. The society has changed over the years as do all volunteer organizations. I've met many great fellow collectors who have become good friends. I too have seen items labeled as "Red Wing" that aren't...sometimes I say something...sometimes I don't....the key here is "knowledge is power"...that is we always have the option not to buy...or on the converse...snap up that bargain! Prices have risen..no doubt about that...but we still have the option to not buy (an option I use frequently)If you look hard enough and long enough, pieces come your way. There are many new collectors that have come into the society and you just might have some fun if you give it another try. I, myself would like to welcome you back....I'm not a yuppie and I do know that the rolling pins were made by Western. Thanks for your post
