Man! all this crap hittin the fan and I just set and say nothin, sigh! I guess I better speak a few non descriptive type words of non wisdom on the subject at hand. You know it's been a long time comin and the only good thing that might come out of this is that someone by chance just might by chance say something to the GROUP POWERS THAT BE, and it MIGHT get a few minutes of air time but nothing will change, sad to say. No one has the guts to say what the problems really are and all this has been said before. I'll list a few in no certain order and I may stray off topic for a bit so stick with me here, grin 1. The one's with the money run the show, always have always will. 2. If your not in the circle, your not one to be heard. 3. To many chiefs and not enough indians. 4. To much "I don't believe you" even with physical proof. 5. My collection is better than yours attitudes. It's great to have a HUGE collection, but why look down your nose at those that don't. Listen to the little guy, he might just teach you something. 6. Why is it that the RWCS did so well for so many years without the need to incorporate and spend more money for administrative needs. 7. Why is it when someone tried to save the dump, that no one would jump on the band wagon to stop the city from covering up the history of Red Wing Pottery. 8. Why do you suppose that guys and gals that really know Red Wing set silent and say nothing. Is it because that they know that they have tried many times and got snubbed? 9. Damn, we're back to the "Who's got the most money thing again" LOL 10. Why is it that so many have some many big plans to do things only to be shot down for one reason or another. 11. Why is it that Red Wingers think that they must price them selves so far out of reach for the little guy to buy something really nice, NOT RARE, just nice. 12. Has anyone besides me noticed that prices are the worst in history, there has to be a logical reason, right? 13. I'll have to admit, the last Mid Winter the WIFE and I attended was so say the least, was the topper of all that was bad about the way things are run and handled. It's not like either one of us were not known to 90% of the people there and also the people running the show, LOL. They wouldn't even let me carry a freakin box inside the show room because I wasn't on the damn list of approved people to enter the POS place. 14. You want to have a good time at the convention? Stay out of the Gym and hit the streets and meet the people that really know Red Wing. Oh the good ole days when the streets used to be lined on both sides from the mill to the pottery building!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 15. I could go on and on, but there's no point, I really wish there was an easy solution to the attitudes and feelings of some. And an easy way to change it. There might not be such a turnover of members of the RWCS. Look at the numbers folks, they come, stay for a while and leave. Then come back and nothing has changed and leave again. Pottery is an addiction to say the least, and it's sad to see so many get really excited especially when they go to their first convention or get together. I'm not saying that everyone and everything about Red Wing or the RWCS is bad, it just needs to steep back, take a deep breath and look at what it has become. Kinda like ebay. One time it was GREAT and a fun place to hang out, but money and greed took over and it's just not fun any more. No matter who you are and what you think, step back and really honestly take a look and be honest with yourself and tell yourself how it really is and what you want it to be. Man, this soapbox is gettin weaker by the minute, grin And I'm sure I will get hate mail, that's cool, BTDT and will again. ;-) Maybe a little good will come of all the -yea I'm gonna say it--- Shit hittin the fan a little. And here comes the negative in me, But I rather doubt it! It's a shame too, I wish I had all the answers but I don't. All I can do is tell a little of what I have seen. I've been treated fairly well by most just because they know I don't take crap from anyone and never will. I never get mad, I just get even, snicker I do think that spongeboob@hotmail.com really should have his posting rights removed though, gimme a break! He must be compensating for something small in life by reading his post! Is this board no moderated at all? I can remember when Byron first started this site! And crap like that would have never been allowed to stay in full view for very long. Yea, those were the days when collecting was fun and everyone got along great and had fun everyday you got out of bed. To bad things change huh! I'm sure there's many out there that would love to see many things changed for the better in their opinions, but I know for a fact they are scared to step up to the plate and take a swing at a solution for fear of reprisal, or fear that word will get out and the BIG GUNS won't sell to them any more. That's not a rumor folks, IT'S A DAMN SAD FACT! Why not take Gale up on his offer and I'm sure he will give total anonymity to you and your emails. The guy made an offer for his time and effort. Take him up on it! I guess I'm done for now. LOL And here I thought I had all the ememies I needed too! Geez! I just never know when to give up, course most of you already knew that didn't ya!
