My input is a bit tardy as well as I have just returned from a family vacation which immediatly followed my week at the Convention. I share Kathleen's view that the Convention offered so many activities and brought so many enthusiastic people together that one just could not help but have a great time. I believe the RWCS Board members deserve much more credit than they receive for making such a great weekend possible. I certainly appreciate their efforts and tell them so when I see them. The mosquitoes were significantly more aggressive this year than recent earlier Conventions, but the wares available for sale and on view in the RWCS Foundation museum were perhaps the best ever. Even long-term collectors were genuinely impressed by what was on display in the museum, and, amazingly enough, similar "top shelf" items showed up for sale on the streets of Red Wing during the week. Sandy produced and directed numerous speakers to talk about various Red Wing collecting topics. I have always found these talks to be fascinating and well worth the time attending, but have been somewhat perplexed at what I perceive to be relatively low interest in them from the membership at large. (Perhaps there are some concurrent sales event of which I am not aware!) The commemorative was universally well-received and certainly deservedly so. While many were available which will likely limit future monetary appreciation, their ready acceptance by the convention attendees will help place the Society on firmer financial ground which is a benefit to us all. As usual, the displays were fantastic, and a special "thank you" to the one who shared their finds from the discard pile (dump) behind the now quiet factories - truly fantastic. It was a great time and I thank all of those who made it possible! Steve
