I am wondering if the 3,000 plus conventioneers are welcome in Red Wing anymore. We may drop plenty of cash but are the crowded streets, busy shops and restaurants worth it to the people who live and work there? I got negative feelings this year, when several employees of different places of business in RW asked when certain functions would be over. They hoped to be off work in time to miss the rush. The situation at the Quiet House is only one problem. Couldn't the manager of QH let the people know BEFORE checkout time when people are tired and anxious to get home, that prices would changed or that they would no longer be welcome? Sounds like a set-up to me. It sounds like a confrontation waiting to happen. Very bad public relations. A new contract must be made this year for the High School. Maybe we don't want to come to RW if we get treated rudely. Rochester or even Minneapolis could be more convienent for us because of the availability of more lodging for members and the proxmity of airports, freeways and a variety of good restaurants.
