I'm new to collecting Red Wing - attended my first convention last year and took my 28 year old daughter with me. Just the 2 of us - we had so much fun. I've just discovered this site and am so impressed with the weatlh of information.
I've seen the comments on the price of this year's commemorative and a few of the disparaging remarks about the society. My husband is a phonograph collector. Let me tell you - those people are so not like the Red Wing people I've met. They are not so willing to exchange information and can be a little cut throat at times. They've got a few collector groups, but nothing as organized at the RWCS, and no great websites like this one.
I feel very fortunate to have come upon this new love - Red Wing - and have met some extraordinarily nice people. I hope my daughter carries on with her collecting long after I'm no longer around to cheer her on!
