Should Wing Tips get into Ohio Rumrill?

I’ve been putting this off for several years now but I think the time has finally come to pose the question…

Should Wing Tips spread our “Wings” to start officially covering Ohio Rumrill (ORR) products too?

Wing Tips was originally meant to be a Red Wing only web site. In fact, that’s part of our introductory paragraph… “If it’s not Red Wing, we don’t have it!” Nonetheless, several pieces of Ohio Rumrill have snuck into the site as many of the pieces seem to have close lineage to our stated heartthrob. I’m personally beginning to gain a better appreciation for the more classic lines and extremely interesting glazes of ORR! It really is some great pottery!

Thinking back to the early times on Wing Tips, someone actually suggested including ORR on the site. At the time I was so overwhelmed with just dealing with Red Wing that thoughts of including another manufacturer was unthinkable. Times seem to have changed; should we?

So, if we were to actually undertake this project we’re going to need some help! I anticipate that recruitment of an ORR expert from those of you on the web would be an absolute must. This person would either share the title in Ask Wally & Gary or we could create another discussion group just for ORR questions. Is there someone out there that feels confident enough with your ORR skills and contacts that you would volunteer your time and talent to spearhead such an effort? I’ve heard that Wally knows one of the ORR Old Timers; maybe Wally could help (hint, hint)?

I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts on this topic. Would we be bastardizing Wing Tips or would ORR be a welcome addition to our community? I know that I’d learn a lot! Please take a moment to reply to this note with any opinion and suggestions for an ORR expert.
