I brought a yellow reed casserole lid in to school and found out that had a geiger counter too. The yellow gypsy trail was not radioactive Bryon has said that it was on one of his red wing quizzes, I wonder where he got this information? Wally said that Red wing had to change their glaze formulas for the orange due to the goverment but I was told that orange was glaze that various other potteries had been trying to replacate because it was very expensive I don't think that any were sucsful until well after the 40's Red Wing originaly charged about a third more for any item done in orange glaze. So my guess was that they contued to make the rest of the colors but quit using the orange glaze but let me know if I am wrong. As for my last post I was told by my chemistry teacher that the wares would not make food radioactive but the danger would come from the particles being emited by the plate and striking you the more pieces you have the higher the number of particles being emitted and a single dinner plate emits around 4,000 a miniute just imagine how many a whole set emits. Also danger would be if you were to chip or scrape a small part of the glaze and somehow eat it this chunk will contue to emit radation as long as it is inside you.
