Dear Karen,
Thank you so much for your kind words of support! It means so much to us!
Things have been kind of hectic at our house. I put a couple posts on my page just today, but I could summarize them by saying "visitors, loving Hague, illness, exams, new hobby, overtime."
Byron has cut back his site updates to once a week, and that has helped. (Anecdotally, another thing that made us feel like we had more quality time was we stopped almost all of our TV watching. We still watch ER and The New Yankee Workshop though.)
It is very perceptive that you wonder if I sometimes resent the computer and would like my husband back! And yet, knowing what Byron puts into Wing Tips (I may know this better than anyone) I treasure the kind words and support that wonderful people like you offer and I am totally dumbfounded when I see Byron's efforts attacked by the Society. (And I realize that deleting the link to Wing Tips was an accident, so I'm no longer upset about that!)
I realize this is a tangent, but I've been wanting to say it for awhile. For the last three and a half years we seem to have been the black sheep of the Society. It started the day Byron presented the prototype web page that he had spent several weeks designing to the Board and offered to develop and run it totally free. They responded that they would rather PAY someone else to do it, then periodically we get nasty letters (like the one before the Mid-Winter)... We have never, ever, gotten an apology or a thank you from the Board.
Sorry to turn this into a gripe session, I guess I just mean to say that I also value Wing Tips, and I do want it to keep going.
And Karen, Thank You for your support. Hope all is well with you and your family! L.
