I've been hearing about the MidWinter for a couple of years, so my husband and I decided that we should see what it was all about. Started with the board meeting. I've been to a few and believe me, your elected board works hard and long. And you don't pay them! Except for the Business Manager, everyone volunteers and not just at scheduled meeting, folks. They put in many hours of work before they ever meet. For what, do you suppose? Yup you and me and "The Wares". I forget this sometimes. Any way, the MidWinter was a good time to see friend and put faces to e-mail friend. The Gopher chapter was well represented. Talked to Ray Reiss, author of Red Wing Art Pottery [better known as "The Book"] who said his new book should be published December 1999. He, also, said there were many bets that it would be closer to the Y2K. It was a very busy three day of SIGs, the General session, the rooms sales, the show and sale and the visiting. It's over and I'm home and tired. Thanks to all who had a hand in this great weekend. Kathleen
