Re: Wally's Post
I don't know much but I know being rude is not going to get anyone anywhere. The BOD letter already shows that.
A sentence that begins-----I disagree with you regarding --- might be more appropriate and would certainly be appreciated.
Not all of us have had the advantage of many years of collecting, going to conventions to shot the bull or to read many of the informative books available. Nor do we take the time to read all of the fine print in the by-laws to make sure we don't gore someone's favorite ox. We want to learn about and collect Red Wing items. Notice I did not say sell, last I heard it was not the Red Wing Seller Society. Too many people are in the group for the wrong reason.
If the RWCS and its representatives continue to treat members with lack of respect then those looking backward instead of forward may get to set around and watch the corn grow and lament the way things used to be back in '77 as I hear many of them do. If that is the case they should stop selling memberships and let others carry on with an organization that welcomes diversity and will use new technology that keeps members abreast of the latest developments.
I disagree with Wally about not posting thoughts and ideas regarding the RWCS here on Wingtips. If you just write the Board it is likely you will get one or two people to give you their opinion, here many can discuss the points raised and should feel free to courteously suggest modifications and improvements. Then, hopefully, after a prolonged discussion, the best solution for ALL will be reached. The BOD should be looking for a forum for wide-ranging discussion on ideas to make the organization more helpful to all members. As we have all seen they sure do not have a monopoly on good ideas.
