I propose that the BOD vote on any or all of the following as criteria for belonging to the Corrector Society:

1. Must have given up your rights and responsibilities on several occasions.

2. Always cower in the face of possible censure and removal from an organization.

3. Think it is ok to single out a member to be made an example of.

4. Don’t know what a web cam is for.

5. Are willing to submit to room and strip searches at conventions.

6. Don’t believe in freedom of speech or a free press.

7. Have never interfered with the duties of elected or appointed officials.

8. Have always felt strongly that any BOD was omnipotent.

9. Have always felt the main duty of BOD was to harass members and get reelected.

10. Believe the BOD should always adopt new policies and send threatening letters because someone ‘felt very strongly” about something.

11. Have never questioned authority.

12. Think RAM is the word for a male sheep.

13. Believe any letter delivered by FEDX sprinkled with lots of legalisms and threats should be taken really seriously.

14. All board meetings in the fall must end by 11 a.m. because of Vikings games.

15. No one, unless they reside in MN, IA or WI, could possibly make a meaningful contribution.

16. If you made it this far, here a just a few others-

a. Must have visited the Grotto, Paul Bunyan’s Statue, and the House on the Rock. b. Have milked or owned at least one cow. c. Have a Germanic, Scandinavian, or French surname. d. Have never had a tattoo or been to a rock concert. e. Have never had an original thought. f. Have “borrowed” at least one piece of stoneware from someone’s porch. g. Wouldn’t expect the BOD to pay you for broken stuff at the auction even though they charge you to be there. h. Think book learnin’ is a waste of time.

Are you offended? How do you think Byron felt when he opened the threatening letter from the Board? How would you feel if you had invested more of your personal funds and time than many of the BOD have and you were threatened with censure and removal for trying to further the appreciation of the Wares. Didn't anybody on the board consider just giving him a telephone call to let him know there was a problem? Everyone we have heard from, with one exception, says they were not even at the last board meeting, did this new policy just materialize out of thin air? Who felt "very stongly"?
