Byron,

I just read the comments of Larry Roschen on your site. I too was unable to attend the January meeting of the Board of Directors. I therefore, was unable to participate in the discussion regarding this sensitive issue.

When presented with the motion about requiring the written permission of the RWCS to publish, broadcast, etc any of the official goings on of the society I took this motion to mean that we want to make sure all of our i's are dotted and t's are crossed in regards to the information that is sent to the public via any form of media. My first thought was gee we had not thought of that before we had better make a policy on that not wow what a great way to make Byron and his camp mad don't let him broadcast from Rochester. I had no intentions of sensoring anything. I am sorry that you felt that is what the letter meant. Yes, it was strongly worded and could have been handled more delicately.

Byron, as you know my main concern as a member of the society is publicity and getting our members more involved!!!!!!! I ran a campaign on that issue. I still feel that way. I don't appreciate being lumped into a group that is being smeared.

I beleive that the only way to solve this issue is for both parties to come to the table and talk about the issues. Leave emotions checked at the door and look at this realistically. You keep saying you want to be our friend. OK that's fine with me. Like I said to Kathleen Johnson, how much secret stuff can really be happening in a society of folks who love pottery!!!!

I personally do not want this issue to divide our society. I see the internet as a valuable resource for our members we just need to agree on the parameters of the "official" information i.e. minutes before they are approved that is to be publised.

Let's stop all this nonsense and come to the table like adults and discuss it.

I don't want to spend my whole weekend trying to put out fires and I don't think you want to spend it that way either.

Thank you for the oppurtunity to voice my opinion.

Until Thursday pm, Wendy Callicoat
