Hey guys, as they say, we've got to play by the rules and (being a good guy) I will do such. Here's a copy of my request to the RWCS Board of Directors to cover the Mid-Winter on Wing Tips; hope it works out well for everyone....
Dear Board Members of the Red Wing Collectors Society,
It has recently come to my attention that the Board has passed a new rule by which I need "Expressed Written Consent" to provide coverage of the February (not January as you say in your letter), Mid-Winter Get Together in Rochester, Minnesota. I would therefore like to apply for such consent.
My intent is to provide coverage of activities between February 18 and 21, 1999 on my web site, Wing Tips, at the internet address of www.RedWingNet.com . The format of this content will not, at all, differ from that of the my last 3 years coverage except that I would like to place a web-cam in my hotel room at times convenient to me and my family. If you so desire, I would be happy to clearly post a message outside my room that the web cam is on and members should not enter if they have any concerns.
As is my usual practice, if any pictures of individual collectors are placed on Wing Tips I will ask for their VERBAL okay to do this. Additionally, I will ask owners permission to place pictures of Red Wing items on the site. In the past, I have taken wide shots of some activities during the meeting that contain large groups of people. If you are at all concerned with this practice I request you provided either a set of guidelines for the use of these or state you do not, at all, want these used in your reply.
I know that this request has come in late but I was not made aware of the new guidelines until yesterday (13-Feb-1999).
It is my intent to be completely open with all my communications to the Board via posts on Wing Talk at this web address http://www.redwingnet.com/New_Wing_Talk/ and intend to share your reply in the same media.
