Just answered my own question about Anniversary Egg Plates!

Well, a couple weeks ago I asked Wally & Gary (actually, the community at large) a question about Anniversary Egg Plates. The question was "Did they make Tweed Tex and Midnight Rose versions of the Egg Plate?"

Tonight, as Lisa was monitoring eBay, she found a Tweed Tex Egg plate sitting at $35 with just over 3 hours left. We bid $85+, were high bidders, and were cautious about watching the results for over 1.5 hours before close.

I had the notebook computer hooked up to the ISDN line sitting by my easy chair in the living room monitoring the auction, email, and keeping my fingers crossed.

Not 3 minutes before close I was outbid. I made a counter in less than a minute and set myself up with multiple browser windows and was ready to press "Submit Bid" on yet another bid. Sure enough, the bugger out bid me again with just over 1 minute left. The guy didn't have a chance, I switched to the second browser window, punched the button, and I was high bidder (with around 30 seconds left on the auction). We have one Egg Plate left to complete our Anniversary collection, Midnight Rose.

I just hate it when it comes to playing last minute games like this. I re-learn an old lesson every time I do this; but I've forgotten it already just 10 minutes after I paid $130 for a Tweed Tex Egg Plate with a flea bite.

God my blood is pumping!
