AAPA and Life Time Membership... has the RWCS thought of this?

To All:

I was just poking around the new American Art Pottery Association (AAPA) web site at http://www.amartpot.org/default.html and see their offer a life time membership for $300 (single) and $350. See member page at http://www.amartpot.org/join_aapa.htm .

What a wonderful idea this is!

Even if the numbers where twice that for the RWCS I'd be one of the first to sign up if it meant that I could avoid those terrible lines at convention or having my membership lapse 15 days before running for VP of the orginization (yes, that did happen). Maybe there could be special services at convention for Lifer's... rapid check in, short line for commem's, etc. Oooo, sounds too good to be possible!

On a side note... I see that the AAPA has around 1,000 members and their annual dues are $30 (single)/$35 (dual). I think I'll sign the entire family up primarily because I'm interested in the organization and, secondarily, as a good comparison/contrast between them and the RWCS. I'll report back on how it goes!
