As Wally said before, it sure has been a long time since we had a good thread here on Wing Talk. I guess the big Clinton scandal has taken our mind off Red Wing topics so I'll try to get us back on track...

I submitted a request to Sandy Short the other day asking to lead two different gatherings at the RWCS, 1999 Rochester Get-Together...

1: A "Wing Tips" SIG -- Yes, I think we have enough people interested in the site that we could get our own SIG. In the past we've called it "Red Wing & The Internet", basically joining the RWCS site and Wing Tips. What do you think, are there enough of us to have our own SIG?

2: A "Clay Product Condition Assessment" education group. It's finally time to arm new members to the Society and Red Wing collecting with the insight to avoid being taken to the cleaners! The purpose of this education group would be to define the basic terms associated with damage that can occur to Clay Products (Red Wing in our case), how to find the damage, and how it may affect the value of the piece. I think this should (almost) be required for all new collectors.

So what do you think? Will these pull 'em in and be worth spending an hour on? I'd be interested in your thoughts.
