Cooler Perhaps one of the most unique pieces of Red Wing advertising, a two toned 5 gallon cooler with advertising on both sides. Came with an albany slip lid with "5W" on the top. This same ad logo is seen on a 2 and 5 gallon handle-less shoulder jug, with the ad logo upside down, perhaps to be used with a spigot as a dispenser. Value ? $4000+. |

Shoulder Jug 1/2 gallon brown top shoulder jug, one of quite a few liquor jugs from the relatively unpopulated area of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Calumet was, in the days of copper mines, a large city that almost became the state capital of Michigan, now a town of several hundred. There were at least 4 different liquor merchants in this town, and all used Red Wing for their jugs. The perfect timing of miners plus liquor at the turn of the century, making liquor jugs very plentiful in this region.
